Meet Scott
With a lifelong passion for people and service, I bring more than four decades of pastoral leadership, military chaplaincy, entrepreneur ownership and clinical counseling experience to my work. Raised in the Northwest as the son of a pastor, I developed early roots in faith, community, and care for others. After graduating from high school in Phoenix, Arizona, I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Northwest Nazarene University and later completed my Master of Divinity at Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1989, beginning an 18 year career as a civilian pastor in Washington and Oregon.
My military service spans 40 years, beginning with the Idaho National Guard in 1981. I was commissioned as a U.S. Army Chaplain in 1991 and later joined the Oregon Army National Guard, serving two combat deployments to Kuwait, Qatar, and Iraq in 2003–2004 and 2009–2010. In 2007, I transitioned to full-time chaplaincy, where I continued to support soldiers and families while completing my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University.

In 2014, I joined the Salem Vet Center as a Readjustment Counselor, eventually serving as Director until my retirement in 2025. My clinical work centers on supporting Veterans, individuals of faith, and those navigating general mental health challenges. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help clients build resilience, clarity, and meaningful change.
Today, I’m committed to using my life experiences to serve the South Clackamas County community as a compassionate resource and guide. I look forward to connecting with those seeking support, healing, and hope.
